Dr. Karan Shetty

Dr. Karan Shetty is a dedicated orthopedic surgeon with extensive expertise in arthroplasty and trauma management. With a strong academic foundation and a keen interest in clinical research, he has performed over 600 total knee replacements and 250 total hip replacements, including complex primary and revision procedures.His prociency extends to deformity correction, arthroscopy,and spine surgeries, making him a versatile specialist in the Field of orthopedics. EDUCATION & TRAINING: Dr. Shetty completed his MBBS and MS Orthopedics from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), where he was a top-performing student. He further earned his DNB in Orthopedics from the National Board of Education, New Delhi, and completed a Fellowship in Joint Replacement from Sparsh Hospital for Advanced Surgeries, Bangalore to become a Joint replacement specialist. WORK EXPERIENCE: He has accumulated signicant teaching experience, serving as an Assistant Professor at BIRRD (T) Hospital, Tirupati, and later at Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from total hip arthroplasty techniques to innovative solutions for nonunion fractures. Additionally, he has presented his ndings at national and international conferences, further enriching the eld of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Shetty has actively participated in various workshops and training programs, including cadaveric knee arthroscopy, hexapod frame techniques, and complex total hip and knee arthroplasty. His commitment to continuous learning is reected in his certications in AO Trauma and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
