Dr. Milind Padmakar Hote

Dr. Milind Hote has extensive 27 years of experience in niche areas of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. After making significant contributions at the country’s premier medical institute, AIIMS, he is now Director of Adult Cardiac Surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Okhla, New Delhi. He has special expertise in performing CABG operations, including the rarely done LIMA-RIMA Y CABGs, Total Arterial CABGs, MIDCABs, Robotic CABGs, Redo CABGs, and High-Risk CABGs. He also has extensive experience in heart transplants, LVAD implantation, and heart failure management, having been involved in more than 50 heart transplants. His achievements include performing the first successful lung transplant in a public-sector hospital in India. He helped establish the Lung Transplant Programme at AIIMS, New Delhi, and has been a guiding figure in starting advanced heart transplant programmes in several other government and private hospitals across India. After his training in Robotic Cardiac Surgery in Austria, his expertise in this field is nationally recognized. He has published a series of the highest number of Robotic ASD closures in the country. He is an ex-member of NOTTO, the national administrative body that helps in formulating guidelines related to heart and lung transplantation, organ donation, and DCD. A highly respected teacher in his field, he has more than 100 notable scientific publications and presentations in national and international journals and conferences.
