Dr. Narinder Kumar Magu

Dr. Narender Kumar Magu is an internationally recognized orthopaedic surgeon with over 40 years of experience, specializing in complex hip and pelvic fractures. A recipient of EMINENT MEDICAL TEACHER AWARD by Vice President of India, 2014. He is recognized as a 'champion of hip preservation concept' in various "hip diseases". His surgical reconstruction techniques in pelvic fractures and hip disorders (both in adults and children) are being currently practiced worldwide. He has contributed immensely to deformity correction, shortening with painful limping gait in hip fractures with non-union in children and adults, tumour like lesions of hip, Perthes hip and developmental and metabolic hip disorders in children with hip preservation techniques. His expertise is highlighted by his deputation to Kathmandu to manage earthquake victims of neglected pelvic-acetabular fractures at the request of Nepal and Indian orthopaedic associations.

Patient Outcomes: Patients (farmers and labourers) recovered to walk on toes and sit cross-legged. Children with limping/painful gait immensely benefited. Emergency Interventions: Made major innovations in surgical techniques and treatment like for managing pelvic emergencies and saved the life of dying patients. Current Focus: He is seriously engaged in the management of AVN i.e. osteonecrosis of hip with his scientific hip preservation techniques after Covid-19.
