Fortis Ludhiana Organises Vaccine Awareness Drive During World Immunization Week 2025

~The hospital also offered special discounts on certain vaccinations during the week-long awareness initiatives~

Ludhiana, April 30, 2025: Ludhiana, April 30, 2025: To commemorate World Immunization Week (April 24th to 30th), Fortis Hospital Ludhiana conducted a series of impactful initiatives such as organizing awareness sessions and health talks by expert doctors at several leading institutions, including BCM School, DCM Presidency School, International Public School, PCTE Group of Institutes, CT University, Aurobindo College and many others across the city.

In addition, the hospital offered special discounts on vaccines throughout the week to encourage wider community participation and protection. Throughout the week, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana encouraged individuals to consult their physicians and adhere to the National Immunization Schedule. The doctors also emphasized that vaccination should not be limited to children—adolescents and adults, particularly those with chronic health conditions or those over the age of 60, should ensure they are up to date on essential vaccines such as flu, pneumonia, hepatitis, HPV, and tetanus.

Despite significant progress in immunization coverage, vaccine hesitancy continues to pose a challenge due to widespread myths and misinformation. Fortis Hospital Ludhiana remained committed to addressing these misconceptions through sustained public education and outreach efforts.

"One common myth is that not all vaccines are essential or that they carry harmful side effects. The reality is that vaccines are overwhelmingly safe. Minor effects like mild fever or pain at the injection site are temporary and far outweighed by the protection vaccines offer," said Dr. Gaurav Mittal, Senior Consultant – Pediatrics, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana

"Vaccines are among the most effective tools we have to prevent infectious diseases, especially during epidemics. If any doses are missed, they can still be administered later based on scientific guidelines," added Dr. Navjot Kaler, Senior Consultant – Pediatrics, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana

Additionally, a public information drive was carried out to educate families on the importance of timely vaccinations and to offer personalized consultation for those needing to catch up on missed doses.

"Vaccination is not only a personal responsibility—it is a community safeguard," the Fortis medical team reiterated.
