World Immunization Week 2025: Doctors Highlight Role of Vaccinations in Preventing Infectious Diseases
Jaipur, 30 April 2025: On World Immunization Week 2025, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur is raising awareness about the critical role of vaccinations in preventing the spread of infectious diseases, which are caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Doctors at Fortis emphasize that vaccines are not only essential for individual protection but also for building the community’s immunity and strengthening public health systems.
Observed from April 24–30, this year’s theme being “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible,” highlights the global commitment to ensuring that everyone—regardless of age, geography, or socioeconomic status—has access to life-saving vaccines. With the resurgence of diseases like measles and polio, alongside the emergence of newer COVID-19 variants and zoonotic infections, timely vaccination remains a vital line of defense.
Dr. Pankaj Anand, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur said, “Vaccination is one of the most powerful public health tools ever developed, having saved over 154 million lives in the last five decades. As we face rising cases of re-emerging and newly evolving infectious diseases, maintaining strong immunization programs is more important than ever. Vaccines do more than prevent illness—they save lives, reduce healthcare burden, and protect future generations. On this World Immunization Week, I urge all individuals to stay updated on the available vaccines, encourage community awareness and support equitable vaccine access. Together, we can build a safer, healthier future for all.”
