Dr. Gourav Jandial

Dr. Gourav Jandial is a fellowship-trained paediatric orthopaedic surgeon with over a decade of specialized experience in managing a broad spectrum of complex musculoskeletal conditions in children. He is widely recognized for his clinical acumen, academic contributions, and international expertise in paediatric deformity correction and limb reconstruction. He holds the unique distinction of being the first and only Indian orthopaedic surgeon selected by the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society (LLRS) of North America for advanced training in paediatric deformity correction and limb reconstruction—a prestigious achievement that underscores his leadership and commitment to the field. Dr. Jandial completed his senior residency at the esteemed Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, followed by a dedicated fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, one of India’s premier paediatric institutions. His clinical expertise has been shaped by experience in several of India’s top-tier hospitals, including Fortis Memorial Research Institute (Gurgaon), Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, and Madhukar Rainbow Children’s Hospital, New Delhi. In these roles, he has provided specialized care for children with congenital and acquired deformities, neuromuscular conditions, and complex trauma. Internationally, Dr. Jandial was selected as an Asian Fellow by the Japanese Paediatric Orthopaedic Association (JPOA), receiving advanced training at the Medical Centre for Children, Shiga University of Medical Science, Japan. His global exposure was further enriched through three years of clinical practice in Canada, working in high-volume academic and specialized centres. During this time, he broadened his expertise to include paediatric upper limb surgery and paediatric musculoskeletal oncology, while continuing to refine his skills in deformity correction and limb reconstruction through precision-driven, multidisciplinary care. As an LLRS Fellow, Dr. Jandial underwent comprehensive, hands-on training at world-renowned centres of excellence across the United States. He mastered state-of-the-art techniques in bone transport, limb lengthening, and complex deformity correction, utilizing both internal and external fixation systems. A defining experience of his fellowship was the opportunity to work with Dr. Dror Paley, one of the world’s foremost authorities in congenital limb deficiencies and complex limb reconstruction. Under Dr. Paley’s mentorship, Dr. Jandial gained invaluable insights into advanced, limb-saving procedures, empowering him to treat severe paediatric deformities once considered untreatable, thereby transforming lives and clinical outcomes. Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Dr. Jandial chose to return to India to address the critical shortage of specialized paediatric limb reconstruction services. His mission is to bring world-class, limb-preserving orthopaedic care to children across the country—bridging international expertise with local need. A prolific academic contributor, Dr. Jandial has presented his research and clinical work at virtually all major international paediatric orthopaedic forums, including the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS), Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), Canadian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (CPOS), LLRS of North America, and the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI). His scholarly work reflects a deep commitment to innovation, evidence-based practice, and global knowledge exchange. With a steadfast focus on clinical excellence, ethical care, and holistic treatment, Dr. Gourav Jandial continues to be a driving force in the evolution of paediatric orthopaedics in India—dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families through skill, compassion, and global insight.
