Empowering Awareness: Touch Feel Detect (TFD) workshop on Breast Cancer Awareness at University of Delhi in collaboration with Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh

On 28th August 2025, Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh, in association with the University of Delhi, organized an impactful Touch Feel Detect (TFD) workshop on Breast Cancer Awareness aimed at educating and empowering hundreds and thousands of students, faculty, and staff about one of the most pressing health concerns affecting women worldwide.

The session was led by Dr. Vineeta Goel (Senior Director & HOD – Radiation Oncology) from Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh, who highlighted the importance of early detection, regular screening, lifestyle modifications, and self-examination practices in the fight against breast cancer. Participants gained valuable insights into recognizing early warning signs, understanding risk factors, and the significance of breaking myths and stigma around the disease. Around 700 students, faculty, and staff members attended the session through online and offline mode and is available to around 50000 subscribers of University of Delhi through there YouTube channel.

The interactive workshop included live demonstrations on breast self-examination techniques, a Q&A session to address participants’ queries, and discussions on how students can serve as health ambassadors in their communities, spreading awareness further.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh and the University of Delhi towards building a healthier and more informed society. With rising cases of breast cancer in India, such collaborations between healthcare institutions and academic bodies play a crucial role in driving preventive healthcare at the grassroots level.
